Heat treatment of machine tool precision castings is an important process in machine manufacturing. Compared with other processing technologies, heat treatment generally does not change the shape and overall chemical composition of the workpiece, but changes the microstructure inside the workpiece, or changes the cast iron platform and The chemical composition of the surface of machine tool castings, which imparts or improves the performance of the workpiece. It features improved inherent quality of cast iron platforms and machine bed castings.

In order to make the machine tool precision castings have the required mechanical properties, physical properties and chemical properties, in addition to the reasonable selection of materials and various forming processes, the heat treatment process is essential. In addition, aluminum, copper, magnesium, titanium, etc. and their alloys can also change their mechanical, physical and chemical properties through heat treatment to obtain different performance. Integral heat treatment is a metal heat treatment process in which the overall mechanical properties of cast iron flats, cast iron bent plates or machine tool bed castings are heated and then cooled at an appropriate rate to change the overall mechanical properties of cast iron platforms, flat plates, cast iron bent plates or machine tool bed castings.

The overall heat treatment of machine tool bed castings, bed columns, machine tool workbenches and other castings generally includes four basic processes: annealing, normalizing, quenching and tempering. As a large-scale casting, the machine tool bed casting product must undergo aging treatment to improve its own performance and improve the inherent quality of the bed casting. When tempering the machine tool bed casting, the tempering process should be strictly followed, and support ribs should be added to the dense or easily deformed parts of the rib to prevent deformation and fracture caused by the tempering temperature. There should be a special person to take care of the tempering furnace thermometer to control the temperature in time to prevent the temperature from being too high or too low, which will have a great impact on the tempered workpiece.
